NJROTC Instructor, Naval Science teacher and Class of 2025 advisor are just a few of Chief David Aupperle’s titles.
Now he gets to add Rancocas Valley’s Teacher of the Year award to his list.
Chief Aupperle has worked at Rancocas Valley for 15 years and has been a valuable member of the RV community. After joining the Navy in 1981, Aupperle left as a Chief Petty Officer in 2004. Afterwards, he earned highest honors on his associates degree and was summa cum laude at Touro University in California.
“Chief Aupperle is an outstanding educator and student advocate,” said Rancocas Valley Principal Mr. Martin. “His scope extends beyond the ROTC unit, with a positive impact on extracurricular events like the senior trip, proms, homecoming and much more.”
Along with being a class advisor, Aupperle also advises the Peer Leadership Team, RV Fitness Team and TLC Committee.
“Chief really inspires me,” said junior Olivia Oberfrank, a Chief Petty Officer of RV’s NJROTC. “He’s always been there for me. Even when I was hurt freshman year on crutches he always wanted me to come out to things. He’s really smart and just a great guy in general.”
Aupperle’s years at RV have left a huge impact within its community. Chief is looked up to by many students as an authoritative yet supporting figure.
Aupperle enjoys his job as an educator and community leader.
“I truly enjoy this job and the opportunity to help young people,” he said. “This is the best job I’ve ever had in my life! I like making a difference in people’s lives and helping them become successful. I hope my legacy at RV will be viewed as someone who truly cares for students and helps them achieve their true potential as leaders, organizers and managers during high school and beyond.”
