Starbucks’s holiday menu

A quick review of the holiday brews at your local Starbucks

Each year Starbucks releases limited time holiday drinks such as Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulee Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte, Toasted White Chocolate Mocha and Irish Cream Cold Brew. However, this is the first year that the Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte makes an appearance. As a huge fan of almond milk in my iced coffee, I was just as excited to try it as the Peppermint Mocha, which has returned for its 19th year. Holiday drinks have officially made a return for this holiday season.

To start off, the Peppermint Mocha is a classic holiday beverage. I got it iced, but you can purchase it as a frappuccino or hot. It was delicious as it tasted like peppermint chocolate and I could hardly taste the coffee. The drink has shavings of chocolate in it which makes it very sweet and the slight hits of peppermint give the drink subtle undertones of minty flavor. This drink overall is a holiday classic and I recommend it to every Starbucks lover. It is a great way to kick off the holiday season and it put me in the Christmas spirit at the very first sip.

Then, I got an iced Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte, but you can also purchase it hot. This drink has no dairy in it and is topped with green and red sprinkles.

The drink was very similar to a typical iced vanilla latte, however it was sweeter as it had hints of sugar cookie in it. I did not like the red and green sprinkles in the drink. The texture was hard and ruined the beverage for me.

Although the drink was good, I don’t think it is worth the price tag as it cost $5.28 for a tall, which is expensive for a coffee.

In conclusion, if you are a fan of Starbucks and a fan of vanilla coffee, I recommend that you at least try this drink. However, it really didn’t feel like a holiday drink and rather tasted like an everyday vanilla iced latte just slightly sweeter. I think the Peppermint Mocha is a perfect beverage during the holiday season.
