One of the hardest-working and most involved departments at RV is the French Department. The three madames put in demanding work to please their students (Nicknamed “Frenchies”), making the language department fun, engaging, and a highlight of the school. From November 17th to the 21st, the French Department celebrated its annual French Week, spotlighting French culture for students to enjoy.
The week consisted of daily activities such as French trivia, painting and pain au chocolat, an after-school cooking class, and the most anticipated, French Fest. The madames have put in hard work and dedication for their Frenchies, and it has paid off. To quote French Fest attendee Kaitlyn Santillo: “I would definitely go again, I learned so much about French culture and was glad I got invited. One of the rules for French Fest is that, to attend, a French student must bring a classmate who studies Spanish or Italian.”
Overall, this event was widely considered a success, and students are excited to see where it goes next year.
